Durham School for Girls, Doha opens as Qatar’s first all-girls British school, welcoming 576 students from Early Years to Year 7 in its first year.
972 girls enrolled as the school quickly shifted to full digital learning, ensuring continuous education during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite pandemic challenges, Durham Girls thrived with 1,185 students enrolled.
Durham School finally resumed full on-campus learning. That same year, we earned top global recognition, prestigious accreditations and celebrated our first IGCSE graduates.

Durham School for Girls, Doha opened its doors as the first all-girls British school in Qatar. The first phase launched as a primary school, welcoming students from EYFS through to Year 7. In its inaugural year, 576 girls began their journey with excitement and curiosity.
The second academic year commenced with 972 girls enrolled. When the Covid-19 pandemic struck, the school swiftly transitioned to a fully digital learning environment, ensuring uninterrupted education and support for all students.
With 1,185 students registered, the school welcomed back all girls for varying periods throughout the year, adhering to safety measures.
Full on-campus learning resumed as the school returned to 100% in-person attendance. Durham School for Girls was honoured with the Microsoft Showcase School Award. The year also marked the graduation of the first cohort of IGCSE students and the school received accreditation from British Schools Overseas (BSO) and ONSA.
Durham School for Girls, Doha became part of International Schools Partnership - ISP, a global family of schools dedicated to growing the world’s most curious, confident minds. This milestone enhances the strength of our British curriculum through international expertise and recognition, while keeping Islamic values and Qatari culture at the centre.
