Durham girls shine in International Kangaroo Math Competition

04-21-2025

A huge well done to our students from Years 7 to 12 who took part in the global Maths challenge and earned medals and certificates for their efforts.

We are incredibly proud of our 42 students from Years 7 to 12 who took part in the International Kangaroo Math Competition, held on 21st April 2025. This globally recognised challenge brings together young mathematicians from around the world, and our girls rose to the occasion with enthusiasm and determination.

Every student who participated received a certificate and medal — a testament to their hard work, problem-solving skills and love for learning. Their achievements not only reflect their individual talents but also the strength of our teaching and support across the maths department.

We’re excited to see so many girls stepping forward to embrace academic challenges beyond the classroom, and we’re already looking forward to even more students taking part in next year’s competition.

Coming up in October, our students will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents in the International Science Competition — another exciting chance to celebrate curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.

Well done again to all the girls who took part. You’ve made us proud!
